Gallows Point Development

When Marine Electrical moved from Yorkshire to Wales two years ago we chose Beaumaris  because of the possibility of a new Marina being developed.  Sadly the new Marina is still no nearer but it is now certain that Gallows point will be re-developed. Marine Electrical will be one of the new tenants in the new "Marine Centre of Excellence". Gallows point will become the one stop shop for everything Marine, from the simplest screw to high tech electronics, from a kids fishing net to a brand new boat. This will be the only place in North Wales where you can find specialists in the Marine Industry.

Many other boat yards claim to be specialists but in reality the guy that anti fouls your boat is the same guy who installs your high tech electronics, or services your expensive diesel engine. The difference at Gallows point will be that instead of a single business "claiming" to be specialist in all fields, there will be several businesses that genuinely specialise in different aspects of the Marine Industry. These businesses will work together to offer you the best advice and the highest quality of workmanship whilst still remaining independent businesses.

Gallows Point Today
Today Gallows Point is a collection of rusty old sheds located on a spit of land that juts out into the Menai Straits.  There are several well established businesses that already thrive here. Starida Sea Services are well known for their fishing trips and boat rides round Puffin Island but they also offer services to offshore wind farms and crew transfers.  Beaumaris Marine Services are also located on the point and their boat Cerismar Two can be seen running tourist trips to Puffin Island during the summer season. The North West Venturers Yacht Club is also located here. This is one of the most active yacht clubs in the area and they are  responsible for producing the Cruising Anglesey and Adjoining Waters guide. ABC Powermarine is a well established company and it is ABC that are responsible for managing Gallows Point and the people behind the re development, in conjunction with Anglesey Council.
